SimRated Past, Present, and Future  2023 Update

Our Story

As we approach the end of 2023, it is important to reflect upon the previous year, where we are, and where we thought we would be.  I refer you to the SimRated Past, Present, and Future 2022 blog post for a more detailed account of SimRated’s history.  In a review of that 2022 post, I recognize SimRated values remain constant and expressed in exciting new projects for 2023.

At SimRated, we utilize high-quality educational content developed by clinicians who perform the procedures and employ only the necessary technology required for the trainee level.  We continue to believe that technology should only be utilized 1) to facilitate content delivery and assessment, 2) if the cost substantiates the benefit, and 3) it improves equity and access.  In line with these themes, we are pursuing three projects, including the implementation of an application to ease video upload, country-wide state “Industry Recognition,” and screen-based simulation with biofeedback.

Our team is committed to improving our customer experience.  This year, we developed an iPhone application that allows anyone to upload a procedure video with the correct credentials.  This will largely remove the need for customers to purchase a phone and make the uploading process more seamless.  This is currently in beta testing.  Please contact us if you would like to give it a try.

With respect to increasing equity and access, SimRated is pursuing “Industry Recognition” in every state that employs this designation.  We are pursuing this goal on a state-by-state basis and encourage any school or district that is open to sponsoring SimRated to please contact us.  In addition, we are exploring the possibility of offering dual enrollment with community colleges as part of our offering.  We believe that dual enrollment will complete SimRated’s offering by allowing students to learn procedures, attain sharable digital credentials, and receive college credit.

Finally, our R and D group is focused on developing a screen-based interactive training that incorporates biofeedback.  The product will provide real-time feedback on the quality of your procedure which will lead to both improved performance and access.  We hope to bring this in a beta version in 2024.

These projects reflect our values and represent our commitment to improving our products and customer experience.  We move forward with our customers in mind and value your feedback.  Please feel free to contact us with any questions or input.
